Maxine Ruddock-Small

Maxine Ruddock-Small is the Senior Programme Manager for the University of the West Indies HIV/AIDS Response Programme (UWI HARP). Her responsibility includes being part of the management team that guided the implementation of the U.W.I component to strengthen the Institutional Response to HIV/AIDS and Sexually transmitted infections in the Caribbean (SIRHASC).


Mrs. Ruddock-Small has worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry in the Caribbean for many years. She has also worked as a consultant with the Ministry of Health in Jamaica. Her interest in Health care has led her to work in HIV/AIDS, because of the growing global emergency.


The HIV/AIDS Response programme is very youth centered, as they are the most vulnerable group. Her work has enabled her to participate in many initiatives, aimed at developing leadership skills in young people.


A past student of St. Andrew High School, Mrs. Ruddock-Small was a senior prefect, and graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Bachelor degree in Chemistry & Biochemistry, and a post-graduate diploma in Management Studies. She also graduated with honours from Barry University of Florida with a Masters in Business Administration.


She is a member of Mona Baptist Church.
