Mission Statement:
To build and harness capacity within the University in order to contribute maximally to the national, regional and international effort to control the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS on the University itself and on the wider society.

AIMS:

  1. Accelerate action by UWI in response to the growing HIV/AIDS epidemic through:-
  - Research
  - Education and Training
  - Strategic Engagement with the society
  1. Develop and monitor HIV/AIDS policies
  2. Generate/attract/manage resources to sustain the response to HIV/AIDS
  3. Serve as a clearing house for the HIV/AIDS information, complementing national, regional and international agencies.
